BENJI LANYADO takes us to a small village in Kent, near London, in a wonderfully written piece in the NYT Travel section. I tasted the oysters and chased them with Guinness then got hungry all over again as I read. The article is in black ink on white newsprint, but I promise you food and scenery in living color as you read. Don’t get stuck in Squeeze Gut Alley – and DO NOT miss the slide show – that’s the dessert after the printed feast.
You’ll enjoy the Whitstable website, too.

Just think– Your Great Grandpa, my Dad started you out on this journey when you sat in your highchair early in the morning and he shared his breakfast of warmed over mashed potatoes and marinated herring with you. You loved him and his leftovers. Mom
